UPDATE ONE: After delaying the official livestream, developers Mihoyo have announced that update 2.1 will be releasing on Wednesday, September 1. Meanwhile, the new Genshin Impact redeem codes have been released and include the following livestream bonuses:

  • DSPVUN2BKH5M – 100 Primogems and 10 Mystic Enhancement Ores.
  • CB7UU6KT2H59 – 100 Primogems and five Hero’s Wits.
  • NTPVU7JTJYPD – 100 Primogems and 50000 Mora.

Developers Mihoyo has also confirmed that Genshin 2.1 will feature the debut of Aloy, as long as you reach Adventure Rank 20 or above during the Version 2.1 and Version 2.2 updates. Completing this task will unlock the five-star crossover character “Savior From Another World” Aloy and her four-star bow Predator via in-game mail when you log into Genshin Impact on PS4 or PS5.

UPDATE: Today’s Genshin Impact 2.1 livestream has a start time of 2pm BST and will be available to view on the official Mihoyo Twitch Channel. The game’s support team has also confirmed that the entire stream will be available to watch three hours later on the Genshin Impact YouTube channel, alongside the new Genshin Codes that will be available to redeem on August 20.

ORIGINAL: Genshin Impact continues to expand in 2021, with the team behind the hit action RPG preparing to launch its next major update on PS4, PS5, PC and Mobile. What’s coming next in Genshin Impact 2.1 is being revealed this week, and the good news is that we know exactly when the big livestream is being held.

Mihoyo is expected to confirm the launch of Raiden Shogun and Kujou Sara as part of the next Genshin expansions arriving in 2021. That’s without mentioning that PlayStation’s Aloy is expected to make her free Genshin Impact debut after update 2.1.

As mentioned above, Aloy will be available to unlock for free on PS4 and PS5 consoles after Genshin 2.1 has been released. Meanwhile, gamers playing on other platforms will have to wait until the launch of Genshin 2.2 before they can do the same.

However, it should be noted that Aloy isn’t guaranteed to unlock as soon as Genshin 2.1 has been deployed, meaning you might be waiting longer than September 2021.

Baal and Sara are also expected to play prominent roles in the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.1 banners but the full details have yet to be announced. The good news is that we should learn more about all the official scheduling for these upcoming events during this week’s Genshin Impact livestream.

WHEN IS THE GENSHIN IMPACT LIVESTREAM?

Developers Mihoyo has confirmed that the Genshin Impact 2.1 livestream has a start date scheduled for Friday, August 20, 2021. The official start time has been set for 2pm BST on the official Genshin Impact Twitch Channel.

For those who want to watch it on YouTube, you’ll have to wait until later in the day for the broadcast to be uploaded and shared.

A message shared on the official Genshin social media pages adds: “Dear Travelers,

The special preview program for Genshin Impact’s new version will premiere on the official Twitch channel on 08/20/2021 at 09:00 (UTC-4).”

Developers Mihoyo are expected to announce what new banners and characters will be released over the coming weeks, with the 2.1 update expected to arrive in early September.

However, as the team has changed a few things recently when it comes to scheduling, we could see further date changes in the future.
