Genshin Impact: Can Kamisato Ayato combine with the Raiden National Team?

The Genshin Impact community is having a lot of controversy about whether Ayato should or should not be combined with the Raiden National Team.

Kamisato Ayato is Genshin Impact’s newest 5-star character, which was released just 2 days ago, in the 2.6 updates. Having his skill set similar to Childe, Kamisato Ayato is a Water-type character, with an elemental skill (E) that allows him to deal continuous Water damage for a certain amount of time.

Ayato

One of the controversial things in the Genshin Impact community right now is whether Ayato can combine with the “national team” like Childe? Let’s dig further in this problem.

Kamisato Ayato’s Skill Overview

Normal Attack: Performs up to 5 consecutive hits.

Elemental Skill (E): Kamisato art – Kyouka: Ayato moves and leaves a Water Shadow, when an enemy is near or the time runs out, Water Shadow will explode and deal Hydro damage.

In this state, Ayato uses quick attacks, converting basic attack damage into Water damage (which cannot be replaced by Chongyun or Bennet’s elemental buffs).

Burst skill (Q): Deals Hydro damage in the surrounding area; at the same time buffs normal attack damage to himself or the characters on the field.

Ayato

As such, Ayato is a Hydro-type DPS, standing on the field dealing main damage with high basic attack speed. With the skill (E) full buff, Ayato can perform up to 23 consecutive slashes. The duration (E) is quite short (within 6s), which means Ayato has to depend on the squad to be able to take advantage of the cool-down time.

Kamisato Ayato and National Team?

After Ayato’s debut, many players immediately tested this character with the “National squad”: Xiangling – Bennet, and Kazuha. Like Childe, Ayato can both grant Hydro mark, take on the role of DPS and deal high damage with elemental reactions.

Ayato

Thanks to the skill (E) has a lower CD than Childe, Ayato might have a better advantage with the National Team. Ayato’s (Q) skill also lasts up to 18s, players can continuously change character positions on the field to take advantage of Ayato’s buffs and Hydro mark, creating a complete rotation, with no “downtime” when the character’s skills are cool down.

Ayato

However, Ayato has a “fatal” weakness, that is, the level of water Mark is less than Childe’s, it is difficult to create vapor reaction. Ayato also cannot buff atk damage as good as Mona, or take on the role of sub-DPS as well as Xingqiu. Ayato’s strength when going with the National Team is his ability to create good AOE damage, so it requires high Elemental recharge so he could use Q continuously. Some players have come up with a fix for this problem by using the Emblem of Severed Fate relic set.

Ayato

Conclusion

The ideal formation for Ayato is still Electro-charged with one or more Electro-type characters. However, that does not mean that Ayato cannot promote his role in the National Team. Depending on the player’s playstyle and the purpose of using the team, Ayato may or may not be suitable for being included in the “National squad”.
